Zechariah 5 - 8

Posted by: Pasteur Etzer Altidor on Thu, Oct 6, 2022

Brothers and Sisters,

And the word of the Lord came again to Zechariah: “This is what the Lord Almighty said: ‘Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another. 10 Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the foreigner or the poor. Do not plot evil against each other.’ (Zechariah 7)

How does one reconcile justice and mercy? They seem to be two opposite requirements in the verse above. Justice is to be applied at a societal level, mercy and compassion at an individual level. We show mercy and compassion to one another because we all need mercy and compassion. Jesus says, “Blessed Are the Merciful, for They Will Receive Mercy” (Matthew 5:7)

Please read Zechariah 5 - 8. And Listen.

May the Lord richly bless you!
