Brothers and Sisters,
16 Come and hear, all you who fear God; let me tell you what he has done for me.
17 I cried out to him with my mouth; his praise was on my tongue.
18 If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened;
19 but God has surely listened and has heard my prayer.
20 Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love from me! (Psalm 66:16-20)
It used to be very difficult for me to pray aloud. I remember one time, I stopped going to a prayer meeting because I was being asked to pray aloud in that prayer meeting. I see many brothers and sisters in our church struggling with the same issue, mostly the young people, it is painful for them to pray aloud. Why is it so difficult for some Christians to pray aloud. Does it matter if we pray aloud or not?
We should know there is a difference between praying and meditate. The Psalmist did both; we could follow his example. He said, " I cried out to him with my mouth; his praise was on my tongue." He also added, If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened." (66:17-18). He was both praying and meditating. Even the Lord Jesus who had perfect communion with God the Father prayed aloud, that is how we get the record of his multiple prayers.
May the Lord richly bless you!
