Brothers and Sisters,

The story of the man of God and the false prophet found in 1 Kings 13 is one of the most incomprehensible stories of the Bible. But, at least we learn a very important lesson from that story, "prophecies must be tested" (1 Thessalonians 5:20-21). We cannot accept blindly a prophet's words because he/she says, "the Lord told me".

18 The old prophet answered, “I too am a prophet, as you are. And an angel said to me by the word of the Lord: ‘Bring him back with you to your house so that he may eat bread and drink water.’” (But he was lying to him.19 So the man of God returned with him and ate and drank in his house. (1 Kings 13)

Please read 1 Kings 12 - 14. And Listen.

May the Lord richly bless you!
