Brothers and Sisters,
3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. (2 Corinthians 1)
When you think of God do you see the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort? In Jonas 4:2, Jonas was upset with God because of God's compassion and mercy on the people of Nineveh, but we Christians should desire God's compassion on all.
He prayed to the Lord, “Isn’t this what I said, Lord, when I was still at home? That is what I tried to forestall by fleeing to Tarshish. I knew that you are a gracious and compassionate God, slow to anger and abounding in love, a God who relents from sending calamity. (Jonah 4:20).
